Do you have a room in your house that always seems to be cold? It might be because of your drafty windows. In this video, we’re going to share with you a quick and easy way to stop drafts from coming into your home.
Stop Drafts In Your Window With This One Trick
Do you ever feel drafts coming out of your windows? Let’s talk about it. Let’s say you’re reading a book near your window/patio door and feel a cold draft on your feet when it is closed. What could be the issue? The thing we would like to talk about right out of the gate is convection. Convection is a weather system in your house. If your window is covered, the temperature of that glass is going to be much cooler than the ambient temperature inside the house. Warm air always goes up. It goes to the ceiling and makes contact with the cool glass. It cools the air, and then it makes it heavy and brings it down. This causes it to go underneath and hit your foot. Of course, the first thing you think is, “how is this window already drafted? Was it installed wrong?” Maybe. But let’s talk about something that might probably be more accurate, such as the temperature of the glass if it’s covered up. The way to combat that is to open up the shades. Leave them open during the day. Let the temperature of the glass warm up. Doing this is really going to help you when it comes to drafting—or convection.
