Homeowners Watch Out for Bad Window Installers!

Window installation is a critical part of your home. If it’s not done correctly, it can lead to decreased energy efficiency and even water leakage. In this video, homeowners share their experiences with bad window installers and what you need to look for when hiring a window installer.

Homeowners Watch Out for Bad Window Installers!

In our many years of window installation, we’ve seen all kinds of bad window installs. For example, we’ve seen windows that have been installed upside down—with the weep holes on top instead of the bottom—leading to a leaky window. Because there is no place for rainwater to escape once on the track, water will enter the home. Another common issue we see from bad window installers is the absence of caulking around the perimeter of the window.

These are the types of things that we speak about and want people to be wary about. We want homeowners to know that weep holes don’t go at the top; they go at the bottom. That’s why it’s important to find a good window installer. At American Window Concepts, we want homeowners to know the basics about windows before going into an installation and have the necessary tools to make sure that your job is done right the first time. Check out our YouTube video that covers the basics of proper window installation below:
