1. Is the company licensed, insured, and bonded?
You want to ensure that the company you are getting quotes from has a contractor license. Make sure they have insurance in case something goes wrong like they damage your product. You can talk to the insurance if the company claims they didn’t do the damage and don’t want to pay for it. The company should also have a bond, usually a performance or payment bond, so if they start a job, they have to complete it.
2. Who is going to do my installtion?
Find out of the installers are employees of the company you’re buying the windows from or if it is a third-party contractor hired by the window company. You’ll then want to research and review the work of either the subcontractor or the company.
3. What does the cost include?
You should check if they break down the cost of the window, the cost of the materials, and the labor cost. We break down the cost at American Window Concepts, but many companies don’t. Some companies will give you a lump sum number, and you won’t be able to see where your money is being spent. You’ll want to ask for a cost breakdown.
4. What do the warranties cover for the windows and craftsmanship?
